Mensa Pakistan
Mensa International has approved the National Constitution of Mensa Pakistan in July 2007 and hence marking its way to achieve the Provisional National Status.
Mensa Pakistan was represented at the Mensa International Board of Directors (IBD) meeting held in September 2007 at Hong Kong, by its Chairman Hasan Zuberi.
Mensa Pakistan is present in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad and have active presence online with its website, and social media pages particularly on facebook, twitter, and Linkedin
History
Mensa Pakistan was founded in the year 1994, with Faisal Qureshi as its inaugural Chairman. The pioneer committee has 10 founding members. The club has grown in strength and has seen active membership by people from all walks of life.
Mensa Pakistan enjoyed its initial years with great enthusiasm and support from its volunteer members and by 1997 the registered membership base rose to 150 plus. In 1998 due to some official reasons Mensa closed its operation in Pakistan.
Re-birth of Mensa Pakistan
In mid-2001 Mensa Pakistan once again revived under the leadership of Taimur Qadri, a Computer Programmer by profession, Taimur regrouped some old members and brought Mensa back to life. In January 2002 Taimur migrated to Canada and Hasan Zuberi was elected as the new Chairman, and is still running the show successfully.
Since June 2002 Mensa Pakistan has increased rapidly and now has an active member base of 250+ and local chapters in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.
